Arbonne Kids

So after the 8th try of making this video the kids came in and crashed my one woman video making party.  The results were too hilarious not to share… and let’s face it, their version is WAY better! Click Here to check it out.

“Taking the Dreadtime out of Bedtime”

Everyone Sleeps

I’m so excited about this you guys! This couple has an amazing story!

Scott Buechner and his wife created this series of videos to help their foster children fall and stay asleep.

I attended High School with Scott and I am totally amazed by he and his wife. They floored me by setting up a coupon in my name to help the families I care about. You can save $5 by entering “Jennifer Miller” in the coupon code section at checkout! Please head over to their Facebook page and check it out.

If you purchase a video, I will donate $5 to a charity that supports foster parents! Let’s do this! Click Here

Scott and Allison Buechner, owners of Quiet Time Entertainment were presented with a challenge several years ago, foster parenting two toddlers who suffered from night terrors and were afraid to sleep. Faced with this challenge they came up with the idea of the video called Everyone Sleeps. Scott, an Emmy award winning producer and editor with over 23 years under his belt took on the challenge and Everyone Sleeps became what it is today. Our video was meant for our family, and a few friends as a way to calm their children. Well, it worked for us, it worked for them, and is now working for parents all over the United States! The Everyone Sleeps series of videos is a perfect blend of images and sounds to help parents, but not replace them, in their efforts to soothe and relax children into a restful state that facilitates napping or a good night’s sleep.

Still Not Your Mom

(phone rings… I answer)
Me: Hello? Hello?
Girl: Mom. I need you to bring my homework. I left it on the kitchen counter.
Me: Um, I cant bring you your homework becaaaauuse… I’m not your mom.  Im sorry, but I think you have the wrong number.
Girl: (pause) Mom! Don’t be mean.  Just bring it to Mrs. #####’s class.
Me: Still not your mom.
Girl: *click* (hangs up)

So I decided to text her.  That’s what a nice person does, right? *teehee*

You’re Not Really Gone

Daddy,
This Is the First Fathers Day since you’ve been gone that I’ve really felt your absence. I’ve often wondered why I don’t miss you as much as other people miss their parents that have gone. Why don’t I cry when I think of you? Why don’t I fall apart? How is it that I keep on going without tripping over my sunken heart?

Then it occurred to me. Just now. Sitting at the breakfast table, looking at the wide and beautiful Wyoming view in front of me, it occurred to me….. You’re not really gone. You’ve never really left me. All of the teaching, the fun, the discipline, the laughter and the love are inside of me. I carry you with me every day and listen to your words moment to moment.
It was this day, Dad, that I realized that I can’t mourn a man who is still alive. Happy Father’s Day, Daddy. I love you!
With Love,

Your Punkin

P.S. I’m in good hands.

OPTIMUS EEYORE

OPTIMUSEEYORE

So I happened upon this information awhile back while on imdb.com  and my childhood memories and feelings clashed together with such glee and horror that there really isn’t a word in the english language to describe it.

The voice actor who portrays Optimus Prime has been voicing this character since the original cartoon aired in 1984.  Peter Cullen has been in voice acting for ages, it seems, and most of us grew up hearing his voice again and again.  We heard him in Votron, My Little Ponies, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, G.I. Joe, The Real Ghostbusters, Duck Tales, Rainbow Brite, and many more.

It was a regular day of watching shows with my sons when I heard this voice again… only this time is was coming out of EEYORE!  Apparently Peter Cullen has been portraying Eeyore almost as long as Optimus Prime but I had never noticed.  I admittedly didn’t watch much Transformers but the voice of Optimus Prime stays with you.  I also admit that I DID watch a lot of Winnie the Pooh growing up, but I never made the connection.

My world was officially blown.  Here are two characters that couldn’t be more opposed to each other.  Eeyore is like Optimus’ ANTITHESIS!

Well, it just goes to show that Peter Cullen is amazing.  He is able to instill the greatest amount of hope and strength in his characters and the greatest amount of sympathy.  Here’s to you Mr. Cullen.  Thank you for giving me a very rich childhood!

Love! ❤

Jade2

For Jade Rusche, a very dearly loved brother in Christ. Our hearts our sick with grief for his family and friends.

I looked up the meaning of Jadrian and I found that it is a form of Adrian, stemming from the Roman Hadrius. Hadria was a town and gateway to the Adriatic Sea. The Adriatic Sea is mentioned many times in the Bible. I know that Jade enjoyed time with friends by the ocean and I wanted to remember him this way.
